WORKSHOPS

We are now holding a series of general chalk-paint workshops suitable for all levels from complete beginners upwards. They will be held in the Garden Room at the new village hall in Dersingham on the first Saturday of each month. If you just want the confidence to start your first project or there is a particular technique you would like to learn, this session is for you. Just let us know when you book what you would like to achieve and we will make sure we have all the relevant equipment with us.

Session times: The session runs between 10am - 2pm, but you can come when you want and stay as long as you want between these times. This means you can bring whatever size piece you would like with you from a picture frame, ornament or mirror up to a larger piece of furniture. Obviously you may not finish a larger piece within the timescale, but you can either come back and finish on another session or take it home to complete. You should have learnt enough of the techniques to be able to do that and extra paint will be available to purchase.

Obviously these sessions are on a first-come first-served basis, so pre-booking is advised but not essential. A small deposit will secure you a space.

Cost: The cost is £16 per session which includes a 150ml pot of chalk paint in the colour of your choice. This would be enough to cover a piece of furniture about the size of a bedside cabinet or coffee table.

You can either bring your own project or piece of furniture or we will have a selection of crates, caddies, magazine racks, wooden ducks, bunting etc that you can purchase. There will also be a variety of stencils crackle glaze and napkins available if you'd like to have a go at decoupage or stencilling.

What to Bring: All other equipment such as brushes, aprons, sandpaper etc will be provided, but please wear old clothes, or something that wouldn't stress you out too much if you got paint on it as you may get a little messy!

CONNECT WITH US

Our furniture has been upcycled, it is in good used condition for its age. It is not new and you must expect imperfections such as marks, knocks, bumps etc which we feel adds to its character. Each piece has its own history and will show signs of its previous life. It is therefore possible that it may have previous repairs which we are unaware of.

All our items are hand painted and not sprayed, it is not a ‘factory style’ finish.

In regards to caring for your furniture, we would advise you to treat your piece of furniture as you would an antique. Avoid excessive water and objects which may scratch and use coasters under water glasses or cups. Clean with a soft cloth and avoid all liquid furniture polish. Following these simple rules will ensure you will be able to enjoy your piece of furniture for years to come
